Trusting God with Your Healing

The Unperfected Life Podcast – Blog Recap

We all long for healing—whether that’s physical, emotional, or spiritual. Sometimes the pain we carry is visible, like an injury or diagnosis. Other times, it’s hidden—like fear, grief, or shame. No matter what kind of healing we need, the Bible shows us that God sees, cares, and can restore us in ways we never imagined.

In This Episode

This episode of The UnPerfected Life is about trusting God with our healing. We look at two powerful stories from Scripture: a woman who quietly touched Jesus’ robe in a crowd, and a military commander who reluctantly dipped himself in a muddy river. Their stories remind us that healing doesn’t always come how or when we expect, but God honors faith, obedience, and surrender.

1. The Woman with the Issue of Blood (Matthew 9:20–22, Mark 5:25–34, Luke 8:43–48)

Twelve years. That’s how long this woman suffered—physically, emotionally, financially. She had spent everything she had looking for a cure and only grew worse. In her culture, she was considered “unclean” and was supposed to stay away from others. But in one moment of bold, quiet faith, she reached out and touched Jesus’ robe.

And in that very instant—she was healed.

Jesus felt power leave Him. He stopped. He turned. He looked for the person who had touched Him—not to scold, but to affirm.

He said, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.”

She was already physically healed, but Jesus did something even deeper: He saw her. He spoke to her. He restored her publicly. He called her daughter.

2. Naaman and the Jordan River (2 Kings 5:1–14)

Naaman was a powerful commander, a man used to being in control—but he had a problem he couldn’t fix: leprosy. When he went to Elisha, the prophet didn’t even come to the door. Instead, he sent a messenger with a strange instruction: “Go wash yourself seven times in the Jordan River.”

Naaman was offended. The Jordan wasn’t a fancy river. This wasn’t a dramatic miracle. But eventually, Naaman humbled himself, obeyed—and was completely healed.

Key Takeaways

Sometimes trusting God with our healing means we take one small step of faith—like a prayer, a confession, or an act of hope—believing He is powerful enough to meet us there.

God often works through simple obedience. Trusting Him with our healing might mean doing something that feels small or even strange—but it opens the door to transformation.
