When You Feel Like Giving Up—Don’t Forget This

Have you ever whispered, “I can’t do this anymore”?
Me too.

We all hit that point where we feel too tired to keep going. Maybe it’s the never-ending to-do list, a dream that feels stuck, or a calling that feels too heavy. The enemy loves to convince us that exhaustion means we’ve failed. That if we were stronger, we’d keep going. That if we had more faith, we wouldn’t feel this way.

But the truth?

Even the strongest believers get tired.
Even the most obedient prophets cry out in pain.
Even Jesus wept.

This week on The Unperfected Life Podcast, I shared the story of Jeremiah—known as the “weeping prophet.” God gave him a hard calling, and Jeremiah obeyed. But obedience didn’t shield him from suffering. In fact, it brought rejection, shame, and deep emotional pain. At one point, Jeremiah told God, “You deceived me.” He felt misled, abandoned, and mocked. But even in that pain, he said, “Your word is like a fire in my bones—I’m tired of holding it in. I can’t.”

Jeremiah didn’t keep going because life was easy.
He kept going because God’s purpose burned deep within him.

So if you’re in that place right now—wondering if you can keep saying yes to God—I want you to know:

  • You’re not a bad Christian for feeling exhausted.
  • You’re not faithless for having doubts.
  • You’re not failing just because this is hard.

Real faith doesn’t pretend.
Real faith says, “God, I’m hurting—but I’m still here.”

This week, take time to rest. To pray honestly. To remember that Jesus—the One who endured the cross—is walking with you. And even when you feel like giving up… God has not given up on you.

Keep going.
Not in your own strength.
But in His.

Because God’s not done. And neither are you.
